Executive Director

Rev. Monsignor Gregory A. Cox, M.Div., M.S.W., M.B.A.

Monsignor Cox holds a Master of Divinity degree from St. John’s Seminary in Camarillo, California. He earned a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Pepperdine University.

In May 1993, he was appointed Executive Director of Catholic Charities of Los Angeles. Prior to assuming this position, Monsignor Cox was a Regional Director of the agency’s Our Lady of the Angels Region. During his tenure as a Regional Director, he was instrumental in opening five community services sites which continue to provide a breadth of social services, including case management, referral services, and employment assistance to low-income individuals and families.

As Executive Director, Monsignor Cox is responsible for administering an annual budget in excess of $40 million and oversees five service Regions located in Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara counties.

Archdiocesan Youth Employment Services (AYES)
Offers comprehensive job training services for youth and young adults, ages 14 to 24, including vocational training, paid internships, career planning, job preparation, placement into post-secondary education or advanced training, and support services under the Workforce Investment Act; job training, education, and career planning; and Summer Jobs programs.

Coordinates interscholastic athletics for over 170 Catholic elementary schools in ten sports at Varsity, B and C levels, and provides a comprehensive coaching and officials’ certification program.

Employment Support Partnership (ESP) (formerly Central Intake Unit)
Offers case management; life skills workshops; employment readiness and placement support to marginalized communities new to the U.S., including refugees, asylees, immigrants, and foreign born trafficking survivors.

Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project
Offers legal representation, community education and advocacy to poor and other vulnerable immigrants who are detained, or recently released from detention, including children and the mentally ill.

Immigration Services
Provides immigration consultation, naturalization, religious worker petition, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), and family-based immigration services. This program is recognized by the Board of Immigration Appeals and uses accredited immigration counselors.
