Our Mission
Catholic Charities of Los Angeles began providing immigration assistance during World War II, when refugees sought safety on American shores. Today, most clients seeking immigration services and refugee resettlement support are coming from Afghanistan, Central America, Iran, Iraq, Mexico and Syria. Our mission is to provide invaluable services to immigrants and refugees free of charge or at low cost.
Our mission is guided by Catholic social justice teaching to welcome the stranger and support the most vulnerable in our society. Our primary goal is to treat the refugees, asylees, and immigrants among us with the respect and dignity they deserve. We believe that no human being is illegal, and that every person deserves equal representation and access to legal services, regardless of status.
