The Holy Mass for Migrants will be celebrated on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at 3:00 p.m., at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles. The pre-procession begins at 2:30 p.m. Archbishop José H. Gomez will be presiding.
The Mass will be held in collaboration with the Diocese of Orange, the Diocese of San Bernardino, and The Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego. Every parish and religious ministry is invited to attend the Mass.

Association of Fundraising Professional Greater Los Angeles Chapter (AFP GLAC) chose Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc. as the Outstanding Nonprofit for the 2019 National Philanthropy Day Awards. The event will take place on November 7, 2019 at the JW Marriot in downtown Los Angeles. The Award Luncheon is held in conjunction with the AFP GLAC Annual Conference. Catholic Charities of Los Angeles recently held its 23rd Annual Catholic Charities Golf Tournament at the exclusive Annandale Golf Club in Pasadena on Monday, June 17, 2019. The event was a big success and benefited programs to house and assist the poor and homeless served by the agency in Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. Catholic Charities of Los Angeles was recently recognized for its transparency with a 2019 Gold Seal on its GuideStar Nonprofit Profile. GuideStar is the world’s largest source of information on nonprofit organizations. More than nine million visitors per year and a network of 200+ partners use GuideStar data to grow support for nonprofits. Donors explore charities and issues they want to support. Funders research grantees.

Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc. received a donation of 1,560 new Christmas books to benefit the boys and girls who will attend Catholic Charities’ annual Community Centers’ Christmas Parties for Children held throughout the month of December. The Molina Foundation generously donated the books as part of its 2018 Book Buddies program. These books will provide children at our centers with the tools they need to enhance their reading competencies, allowing them to achieve better success in school. Over the years, The Molina Foundation, a national nonprofit organization based in Southern California, has supported Catholic Charities through its Book Buddies program.

Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc.’s sound fiscal management practices and commitment to accountability and transparency have, for the sixth consecutive time, earned it a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator. “This is our highest possible rating and indicates that your organization adheres to sector best practices and executes its mission in a financially efficient way,” stated Michael Thatcher, President & CEO of Charity Navigator. “Attaining a 4-Star rating verifies that Catholic Charities of Los Angeles exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities in your area of work. Only 15% of the charities we evaluate have received at least 4 consecutive 4-Star evaluations, indicating that Catholic Charities of Los Angeles outperforms most other charities in America. The exceptional designation from Charity Navigator sets Catholic Charities of Los Angeles apart from its peers and demonstrates to the public its trustworthiness,” he continued. “It is important that our donors can trust that we’re using our funding wisely to accomplish Catholic Charities’ mission,” explained Rev. Monsignor Gregory A. Cox, Executive Director.
