OASIS helps make the “golden years” much more enjoyable for hundreds of seniors each year.
Protect the Aging
OASIS
Since 1986, OASIS (Older Adult Services and Intervention System) has helped thousands of frail, low income elderly persons remain safe in their own homes, avoiding unnecessary or premature institutionalization. OASIS helps make the “golden years” much more enjoyable for approximately 500 seniors each year by providing financial support, deliveries of daily necessities, coordinating community resources and offering essential companionship. The program also eases the emotional, physical and financial strain on caretakers of the elderly, most often the older adult’s family and loved ones, allowing the younger generation to better care for themselves and plan for their own financial futures.

OASIS Makes First Flower Deliveries to Some Clients
Each quarter, OASIS in the Ventura County area of Catholic Charities, will choose some clients who need an extra “cheering up,” and OASIS volunteers will deliver bouquets of flowers to them. Recently, the program made the first flower deliveries. “It was beautiful,” Lisa Nagy, OASIS Program Director, shared. “The idea came to one of our staff, Connie Perez, in her dream and we got it up and running, at no cost to OASIS.”
