Transform Homelessness

Project Achieve

Project Achieve offers emergency shelter to single men and women, ages 18 and older.  The main goal of the program is to move clients from “in crisis” to safe and stable housing. All residents develop an Individualized Service Plan (ISP) with their case manager prior to entry and are required to meet with the case manager on a regular basis to review progress toward their goals and develop new goals, as needed. Residents are required to sign and abide by the Client Agreement as well as the Client Program Requirements which indicate the rules and guidelines of Project Achieve shelter life. In addition, the residents are encouraged to participate in a savings plan, where they will save 80% of their adjusted gross monthly income, thereby increasing their chances of establishing housing by their completion date. Project Achieve is an active member of the Long Beach Multi-Service Center (MSC) Collaborative. All residents must have an agency referral and attend an assessment interview to determine eligibility into the program. Basic shelter services include assigned beds, bathrooms, showers, group social development and a recreational area. The shelter is designed for community living. The sleeping quarters are sectioned into two separate “dorm” areas: one for men which houses 43 beds; and one for women which houses 16 beds. Two meals a day are provided, either through our “Guest Chef” Program or as a shelter service.
